Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets. One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address. This is still a relatively rare occurrence but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note. The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site. Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

Available 15 March – 8 May 2020. On the off-chance anyone is stranded in Paris and needs a place to stay, our flat is available. We won’t be able to make it back until May, sadly. Five minutes from the Canal Saint Martin and the Faubourg Saint Denis, a stylish, airy writer’s home, filled with books, art, and plants. Recently renovated, furnished with a mix of modern and vintage furniture and textiles, the flat is striking but homey. Spacious and comfortable (65m2), flooded with light, with a beautiful view over the neighboring Haussmannian buildings and the nearby Eglise Saint Laurent, 5th floor (elevator). The flat is composed of a large master bedroom with a queen sized bed, one bathroom, living room/dining room, and open-plan kitchen. There’s also a baby room (with crib) as well, if you’re bringing a little one along. We love to cook so our kitchen is equipped with everything you’d need to prepare your own meals at home. Our apartment is chock full of books. I’m a writer and this is my working library; you’ll find everything from books about Paris (including a few helpful guidebooks) to French theory (in case you fancy reading some Deleuze by the canal) to the latest fiction and non-fiction. The neighborhood is very central; you can walk most anywhere from here, but if you prefer to take the metro we’re not far from Gare de l’Est (lines 4, 5, 7), where many buses stop as well.
