Only subscribers to H-France may post on this site. To subscribe, go to our subscriber page at www.h-france.net/subscribe.html. H-France only lists postings of housing offered or sought in France. Properties outside France will be posted only if they are being offered in exchange for a property in France. Subscribed members should send their postings directly to the H-France listserv (H-FRANCE@LISTS.UAKRON.EDU). It will be forwarded to the housing editor, who will post it on this page and distribute a weekly digest of new postings to H-France subscribers. Please allow one week for your housing notice to be posted. Be sure to include all necessary information: contact information, general description of the location, general description of the apartment, dates apartment is available, rental price.

This page is updated on a weekly basis. All postings will be removed after four weeks. Accommodations that are still available after that time will need to be resubmitted. Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets. One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address. This is still a relatively rare occurrence, but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note. The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site. Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

As I moved in US for a couple of months (Phd of my wife), I propose my apartment for rent by weeks or month. This fully refurbished apartment of 60 SQUARE METERS in Haussmanian building, is located on the 4th floor (with ELEVATOR ) of a XVIIIth century building, a few steps away from the charming Place de la Bastille and Le Marais. Fully equipped. The living room of 30 square meters, overlooking the street, is equipped with a very comfortable (and easy-to-handle) sofa bed which can be adjusted as a twin size bed. There are two marble fireplaces (chimney) with antic “biseauté” glasses. In the whole apartment there is very old and charming wood floor “point d’Hongrie”. Cable TV (with CNN International and BBC World among others) is also available in the apartment. Free Wi-Fi Internet is available as well as free calls to landlines in the US, UK and several other countries. The flat is not air conditioned but there is an electric fan. The bed room is very sunny and quiet. There is a twin bed and two big closets. All furnished with sheets, towels…. The apartment contains a fully equipped, separate kitchen. The kitchen has a built-in ventilation system. There are a washing machine, a dishwasher, microwaves, 4 ring hob, four, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, iron, all dishes and cutlery. The apartment has a shower and toilet (separate). There are linens, towels and hair dryer in the shower room. You can find in the apartment a few books with practical and useful tips on the area and Paris. The entire apartment has been remodeled with careful attention to restore the apartment’s original features while at the same time providing all modern amenities and conveniences. The apartment is no smoking apartment. The Neighbourhood: The apartment is near to Bastille and the Marais. There is a very big open-air food market “Marché Alligre” near to the apartment, as well as a 5 supermarkets and also speciality shops a block away. The apartment is near to Gare de Lyon where you can find a direct airport bus. The Metro line 1 is two steps away (100m).The line 1 is the main metro line automatic with which you can visit the entire city and sightseeings very quickly. There also line 8. They’re a lot of restaurants and bars in the area. Price including all costs is 750 Euros per week ( minimum 2 weeks) or 2300 Euros per month. 6th and Top floor apartment in Gambetta – NO elevator but a terrace with a lovely view where you can put a table (exposition south-east: i.e., the sun is shining from dawn to mid-afternoon). The apartment is full of light as there are two French windows in the living room and one in the bedroom. In a large living room, you will find a sofa, a dining-table and a desk; in the bedroom, a queen size bed and a closet. Downstairs the apartment, the rue des Gâtines offers a bakery, a butcher, a fishmonger and two places for fruits and vegetables (plus the market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the end of the street). The area is really enjoyable: socially diverse, familial and quiet. Two minutes to reach the metro Gambetta with its very convenient line 3 (République in a ten-minute ride). Bus 64 will take you to the BNF in 25 minutes, and more generally Gambetta is very well-served by buses (The 61 takes you to Bastille or Gare de Lyon in 15-20 minutes). During the day, you can walk through the Père Lachaise Cemetery (5 minutes away). All facilities are included: bed linen, washing machine, internet (and telephone for international calls if needed). In a quiet courtyard along the rue de Sévigné, a fully furnished and equipped one bedroom apartment, ideal for a single person or a couple, and used by many scholars these past 3 years. Perfect location, a quiet street around the corner from the Place des Vosges, the Archives Nationales, and the Carnavalet Museum. First floor at the back of an 18th century courtyard: Living room with big desk, little desk, dining area, sofa-bed, two armchairs near fireplace, three large south-facing windows; bathroom with shower and heated towel rack, double bedroom with closet. FOR RENT – August 1-15, 2024. Retired Franco-American professor seeks to rent her apartment in the 15th for 2 weeks from August 1-15, 2024. My place is in a great, very safe, non-touristy neighborhood. Near Vaugirard metro and 5 buses. (2 direct buses to Latin Quarter and BNF). 5 minute walk from Institut Pasteur, 2 mins. from Mediatheque Marguerite Yourcenar. 15 min. walk to Montparnasse train station. Calm street near shops, restaurants, cinema, open market. Bright and sunny, greenery, nicely decorated. Living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms (one serves as a study/guestroom but has a very comfortable trundle bed with Bultex mattresses that can be used as a single or 2 singles; the main bedroom has queen-size bed), and fully-equipped kitchen (with large fridge, dishwasher, oven and microwave). Bathroom and separate toilet. Washing machine in kitchen. Perfect for reliable, couple or 1, 2 or 3 singles. No smoking in the apartment. 1500 euros. BUTTES CHAUMONT – CANAL ST. MARTIN – REMARKABLE DOUBLE-BALCONY VIEW FLAT. 80 sq. meters. We are on the 11th floor of a 70’s building at 55 Avenue Jean Jaures, Paris 75019. From the two balconies, you can watch the sun set over Sacre Coeur… and just about everything else in Paris as well. There are two bedrooms with queen beds (and killer views) and a huge salon which can be closed off to serve as a third bedroom, with a sofa bed and day bed. Full, separate, very well-equipped kitchen. Two bathrooms, one with tub, and separate toilet. The apartment is well-heated and, in the summer, the cross-current from the balconies keeps it cool (plus there are fans). The flat is (obviously) not on the Seine but the Sights are a walk or short metro ride away, and the quartier itself is quite wonderful — non-touristique, extremely diverse, with wonderful access to open space and all the shopping—both supermarkets and petits commercants—you might desire. It is very much a ’15 minute city’ part of Paris. And the language you will hear in the streets and shops is French! We occupy the apartment eight months a year, so it is a lived-in space, with personal books and art, not an Ikea airbnb. My strong preference is to rent to responsible academics for a month or more during Jan-Feb and July-August and I offer a monthly price of 2,500 euros, or a two month price of 4,500 (please compare!). The apartment is fully equipped—washer-dryer, dishwasher, cable tv, wifi. Linens and towels are provided. We ask guests to smoke on the balconies. Children are welcome. A pet is possible; we can discuss. We are very close to no fewer than 3 metro lines (5,2,7) so getting just about anywhere is not a problem. We are directly next door to a big Carrefour market which is handy (though not great) and there are two much nicer Monoprix supermarkets a short walk away.
